Jaspers' Birth Story

We got to the hospital at 11 am on Saturday September 3. I got checked in and fill out paper work. They took us to the room that I would be delivering in. The nurse got me all hooked up to the monitors and iv's. I was dilated at a 2 and 70% effaced when they checked me. My doctor came in at 11:45 am and he decided to break my water. Jon and I started to watch some DVDs that we brought from home since we knew it would be awhile. After my doctor broke my water the contractions started to get more intense on me.At  3:30 pm I got my epidural. Which wasn't pleasant at all!! The anesthesiologist had to do my epidural twice. The first time that he did it he ended up getting spinal fluid and made my whole right side jolt. The second time that he did it he made my left side jolt alittle bit but then it went away and it was all ok. My epidural was really weird this time too. 1-Jon wasn't able to give me a blessing before I got my epidural since we both forgot to bring the oil with us 2-It was only working on one side really well for a long time 3- I was having sharp pain on my right side (from my contractions) 4- It started to wear off towards the end, so the anesthesiologist had to come back in to up my dose, which helped for a little while. I don't remember what time it was but they came and checked me again and I was at 9 cm so they called my doctor and my doctor decided to have me wait for an hour so that the contractions could push the baby down more into the birth canal so that I wouldn't have to push for 30 minutes. My doctor got there around 7:45 pm and noticed that the baby was facing face up. He had to take forceps to turn him around so that I wouldn't tear. While he was doing that it was painful since my epidural was wearing off and I could feel pressure in my butt (which never happened with my other two boys) and I could also feel the contractions. After my doctor turned the baby the right way I pushed 1 and a half times and out came our baby boy. Jasper Cole Barney was born at 8:06pm weighing at 8 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long. Right after he came out I seriously felt better. I didn't tear which was nice also. Out of all my kids he was the first one that I got to hold first. Jon didn't hold him until almost an hour after I delivered him. He is such a good baby too! I love him so much!! We all know that I really want a girl but when I finally heard Jasper and saw him I told Jon that I wouldn't trade him for all the girls in the world. I am so glad that we had another boy!

Surprise Baby Shower/Girl's Night!

About 14-15 weeks into my pregnancy I was having a really hard time with everything. I was in pain, I thought I was going to miscarry our baby and it was just really rough on me. I also needed to get out and have fun with a bunch of girls and do girly things. Well of course my husband would always hear me saying that and he knew that I needed it. So in July he secretly told all of his sisters that I was really needing a girls night and that they should through me a surprise baby shower since I have never had a surprise party my whole life. Shocking I know!

Jon was helping his sisters plan for everything. From asking me random questions about what my favorite things are and if it wasn't the answer he wanted to hear than he would just keep asking the question over and over again. Some of the questions were; what's your favorite place to eat out at?, what's your favorite movie to watch just for fun?, what's your favorite kind of food, mexican, italian, chinese, etc? Some other questions that he would ask me is what if someone wants to get us a gift for the baby, what do I tell them to get? I would always tell him no more clothes since the baby already has enough but then he would always point out to me that you can never have too many clothes for a baby. So I would just say "Whatever they want to get us then would be great."

All the questions stopped when he finally got the answers that he wanted to hear. August rolls around and my brother in laws birthday was on Friday August 12th and his wife Heather sent me a text message saying that they were going to do a birthday party for him on Saturday the 13th of August and they would either do pizza or hot dogs. After getting the text message I was pretty excited to have a get together since it has been awhile since we have had one and it also meant that I wouldn't have to come up with something to fix for dinner and clean up the mess. I was also looking forward to playing some games and just relaxing.

Saturday rolls around and I was trying to get ready when I kept on having contractions. They were only Braxton Hicks contractions but they were pretty painful. Needless to say it took me awhile to get ready. Jon got home from work and he was getting ready and he also knew that I was having contractions and that if they didn't stop that I was going to have him take me in to be seen. Luckily they stopped but I now wasn't feeling all that well. He kept on asking me what could he do to help me feel better. Everything that I said he would just rely ok. He suggested that I take some of my tylenol 3 to help me feel better. Which I ended up taking before we left our house to head over to his sister's house.

Anyways we get to his sister's house and say "hi" to everyone that was up stairs and then Heather asks us if we have seen the projector that's all set up downstairs now with no cords hanging on the wall. So we went down to see it. At the time I am still thinking that it's a birthday party for Tim (my brother in law). We get down there and all the lights are off and I could see a sign that said "it's a boy!" and I am thinking well that's kinda of weird to have that up on the wall. They turned on the lights and yelled "Surprise baby shower" or some where along those lines. I was totally surprised and confused all at the same time.

According to Jon my surprise look on my face wasn't the best ever. So everyone didn't think that I was surprised. But I really was!! I was also trying not to cry the whole time. All the guys left with all the kids. After they left all the girls were asking if I was surprised and I REALLY was. They also then told me that it was all Jon's idea. Aww!! I felt so loved! Then they told me what they had planned for me. Dinner which was pasta, bread and salad Olive Garden style; desert which was chocolate tart with fruit; crystal light as the drink; playing games; opening presents and watching a movie. Let's just say that I was really excited that I wanted to shout for joy and jump up and down. But I didn't do that cause I didn't want to scare everyone.

It ended up being a great night and just what I needed!

Getting Ready!

My doctor is planning on inducing me either on the 2nd or 3rd of September. Since he is leaving for vacation on the 4th and he would like to deliver the baby since he has seen me through the whole pregnancy and I would feel more comfortable to have him deliver Jasper just in case something happens the hospital won't have to hurry and get ahold of my actual doctor. I know that some people don't think that being induced is the best option but in our case it is the best option for various of reasons. 1-It will be easier to work around Jon's crazy work schedule. 2- We will have someone at our house that will be staying with our other 2 boys while we are at the hospital. 3- My body only knows how to be induced since that is how Mason and Aiden got here.

I am getting SO SO SO excited to meet our little boy! I just can't help myself. I have got his room pretty much all ready for him to arrive, which will be in 4 weeks on Friday. There is stuff that I still need to do in his room to get it offically all done but most of the stuff I want to do can wait til he is here. I finally got the diaper bag all packed and his car seat is ready to go in our car. I still have to pack my hospital bag but I think I'll just do that when I only have a couple of days left. I would pack it now but I don't have very many maternity clothes so I need to be able to wear them still. Here are some pictures that I just can't help myself not to post.

Our new car seat with the car seat canpoy on it. The canopy is also reversible, which I love!

Here is what the car seat looks like and what the other side of the car seat canopy looks like.

Pregnant Pic & Braces Are Off Pic!

I got my braces off on Jon's birthday which is April 27th. I didn't tell anyone cause I wanted to see how long it would take for everyone to notice that they were off and to hopefully hear good compliments, but that didn't workout so well since we didn't see anyone for like a month and a half. All though when we finally did have a game night some people did notice which made me feel good about myself. Those who all really knew me, I hated how my teeth looked before I got braces and all the time growing up I was made fun of for it all. But now I love my teeth and I am really excited to get my implant done and have it all finished for good. Enjoy the pics!
24 Weeks Pregnant and I look huge already!
Braces are off! I do have to wear a retainer though for 6 months 24/7
and then after that I only have to wear it at night.
Trying to get my new smile down.

Sick + Pregnancy= Feeling Horrible

The good news is that all the horrible pain that I have been having on my right side has FINALLY gone away. I am so grateful for it too! My doctor prescribed me lortab for the pain and ever since I have finished all of it, I am feeling so much better. Now all that I am having is just normal pregnancy stuff that's been going on which is nice. The only thing that I am going to have my doctor look at, at my next appointment is my throat. I keep getting sore throats and my tonsils feel like they are swelling up again. The first time that it happened to me I could barely breath, talk, swallow and according to Jon it made me snore like no other. Luckily it went away after about 3 weeks and then we all got sick again and it's starting to feel like it's happening again. My doctor prescribed me amoxicillan and I took that for 7 days and after a couple of days my sore throat came back while I was taking the medicene so I just figured that it's only doing that since I wasn't done with the 7 days yet but now it's all taken and I am still getting the sore throats. It looks like they are swelling up but I am not sure. I am going to wait it out til my next appointment and then I'll just have him take a look at it. I am really hoping that I won't need to have my tonsils removed. Just because I'll have to deal with it until the baby is here to get them removed. Which wouldn't be so great to wait it out for that long.

Are you ready for this?

On May 3rd we found out we are going to have another little BOY running around the house. Crazy huh? That's what I was thinking. Wow! Three boys is going to be a handful and it will keep me very busy. But that's all ok! We know what we are doing when it comes to boys. The good thing is that we won't need to buy awhole lot of baby stuff this time since we already have most of it. There are still some things that we need to get though for our little BOY. We also have a name picked out for him too, it's Jasper Cole! We love his name and no we didn't decide to name him cause of the twilight character. We are naming him that cause it's a unique name. We all know that we really wanted a girl but now I am so so so excited to meet our baby boy Jasper. Here are some ultrasound pictures that were taken when I was 21 weeks & 3 days along.

Proof that it's another little BOY!!

Test Results Are Back!!

At my last Dr's appointment he ordered for blood tests to be done on me. I went and got my blood drawn and my Dr let me know what the results were. So he did an iron test, thyroid test and tests on the baby for down's syndrome, etc. All the test came back normal. I am so relieved that there is nothing wrong with the baby and that I don't have a thyroid problem. Now all my Dr has to figure out is why I have been having all this pain on my right side and I will be worry free. :) Oh and in 2 weeks and 4 days from now we will find out what the gender is of this baby! I can't wait!!

A Healthy Pregnancy!

I went to my Dr appointment yesterday and he thinks that the pain that I have been having is either ligament pains or I might have a herina. He told me to just keep an eye on it and the next time I am having the pain again to really look down there and feel to see if it's definitely poking out. He said if its poking out then it's a herina for sure and if that's the case then he will just keep a really close eye on it cause they don't want to do surgery while I am pregnant. He also gave me a prescription for the pain. I was also worried about the baby since the last time that I was in he couldn't find the baby's heartbeat and I also haven't been feeling the baby move as much. He reassured me that everything was fine with the baby and that it's a very healthy pregnancy. This time he was able to find the baby's heartbeat right away and the baby is definitely kicking and moving around in there. The baby was kicking the doppler while my Dr, Jon, Mason, Aiden and I were listening to the heartbeat. There were some other things that I was worried about like me being so tired with this pregnancy and before I was pregnant. I would take naps everyday and they would be pretty long naps too and I was still able to go to bed at night and sleep good. So my Dr ordered to do a blood test to see if anything is wrong with my iron or to see if I have a thyroid problem. I am really hoping that it turns out to be nothing but we just want to make sure. Also the baby's heartbeat was 145 bpm this time around. I don't know what it was before though cause yesterday was the first day that I ever got to hear the baby's heartbeat and last time the Dr couldn't tell me the bpm cause he had to do the ultrasound to make sure the baby's heart was beating. Now we just have to wait for 4 more weeks to find out the baby's gender, which will be May 3rd! Yes, I am doing a count down! You are probably wondering what I want to have. Well I am sure all of you know that I really want a girl which is true but with everything that has happened so far with this pregnancy. I just want to have a healthy baby. I realized that I need to be grateful for what Heavenly Father has given us whether he gave us a healthy baby boy or girl. I also have been thinking about it too and it won't be so bad to have another little boy around since I already know how to raise boys and I have most of all the stuff for a little boy that I need. But it would also be WONDERFUL to have a little girl around the house. Well that's about it for now, I hope I didn't bore anyone to death about this. Thanks for listening!

Is there really something wrong or am I over reacting?

OK, most of you already know how I am when it comes to anything really. Those of you who don't really know me all that well I'll just say that I always think of the worst case scenarios and over react to everything that deals with life pretty much. That's just the way I am! LOL! When I was pregnant with my second baby (Aiden) I got these really bad pains on my right side down in my pelvic area. So the Dr of course did an ultrasound when I was 14 weeks along with him to see if I have cysts on my ovaries. It turned out that it was nothing but ligament pains and then the pains returned when I was about 8 months along and it wouldn't go away. My Dr informed me that it was just the baby putting alot of pressure down there and it wasn't going to go away until I delivered him. Which the pain did go away right after I delivered him. With this pregnancy the pain came back around 15 weeks. The only thing that is making me think that it's not ligament pains this time is that it is really consistent. I found out that the only way to make it go away is to stay really lazy all day long. That Intel's that I just sit on the couch, sleep, watch TV, read books, and get up to use the restroom and feed my kids. I did this on the weekend cause my weekdays are pretty busy with taking Mason to preschool and back and other errands that I need to do. So I have been researching online and I don't know what this pain is but it could just be the ligament pain again, cysts on my ovaries or something wrong with my appendix. I don't know so I'll just leave that to my Dr to decide and put my mind at ease. Tomorrow is my Dr appointment and I am definitely telling him all about this pain. Oh and I forgot to mention that the pain that I have it hurts like none other. Walking hurts, sitting up and down hurts, stretching out my legs, lifting stuff hurts and the list goes on. I am always tired and exhausted as it is too. I take naps everyday and go to bed by 10 pm every night. So if any of you have ever had this pain before please give me ideas about what to do that will help it go away. Let hope that I was really just over reacting and there is nothing wrong with me or the baby. Wish me luck!
